Island Lake Lodge Announces Receipt of Environmental Award

Fernie, B.C. March 3, 2008-The Island Lake Lodge is proud to announce its nomination as the winner of the 2007 Hall of Fame Award of Excellence in the Energy and Environment category from the Hotel Association of Canada. This award recognizes Island Lake Lodge’s commitment to preserving the environment and efforts to minimize energy use in its daily operations. Key among these initiatives is the installation and operation of 2 micro-hydro stations to generate 100% of the Lodge’s electrical needs.

"We are very proud of our efforts in creating a sustainable and eco-friendly operation.
